MAI TE UIRA
Presented by Chamber Music NZ
Wednesday 11th June 2025, 7:30PM
Musician, producer, and innovator Tiki Taane (Ngati Maniapoto) and multidisciplinary artist Kereama Taepa (Te Arawa, Te Ati Awa) join forces to create a unique performance experience.
Grounded in a karakia that references the atua and whakapapa of their artforms, Mai Te Uira explores how innovation can be transformative when we open our minds to new ways of thinking.
Tiki Taane creates live loops and improvisations that respond directly to Kereama Taepa’s digital animations – reflecting the transmission of knowledge between atua and artist, and cementing those relationships.
